Consistent and predictable paper is the focus of our notebooks. Selected among the finest paper variations that can handle fountain pens without bleeding through pages, while maintaining enough tooth for pencil work. We're continuously testing and documenting pens for feathering and ghosting so you know what to expect.

When will I get my order?

Edition 1 is currently in pre-order only. The first batch of notebooks are expected to ship in early Fall 2026.

Return policy

Unused notebooks can be returned within 30 days. Please reach out at standardnotation@outlook.com
Shipping

Your orders are shipped from our headquarters in Montreal, Canada. We will work quickly to ship your order as soon as possible. Once your order has shipped, you will receive an email with further information. Delivery times vary depending on your location.
Manufacturing

Edition 1 is designed in Canada and manufactured in China. Our team has visited our manufacturing facilities to verify working conditions and quality standards before partnering with them. Our selected partners are SA8000 certified, which is an independent audit confirming fair wages, safe working conditions, and no child labor.


The paper in Edition 1 is FSC-certified, meaning it comes from responsibly managed forests. The cover is made from vegan leather that meets RoHS and REACH compliance standards, ensuring no harmful chemicals are used in its production. No animal products are used.
